The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
